“Like MPavilion, MCurators is a unique experience. Apart from the engaging content, conversations and connections, it will inspire you to think in new ways. I’m so grateful, thank you MPavilion.”
—Tom Vilar, 2022 M_Curator

Are you interested in curation, art, design, and architecture?

MPavilion is looking for its next cohort of 17 to 25 year olds to take part in this year’s M_Curators mentorship program.
Over the course of a week, emerging curators will participate in daily workshops that go through the ins and outs of public programming and curation. Participants will then be given ongoing guidance from the MPavilion program team and given the opportunity to develop public events for MPavilion’s forthcoming season: MPavilion 10 designed by Tadao Ando.

What are
M_Curators?

M_Curators are the next generation of art, design and creative workers! They are curious, conceptual and want to gain practical experience in developing and curating public events and programs. M_Curators can come from various backgrounds and interests, but they all share one thing in common—a passion for the arts, design and architecture!

Read about the past M_Curators of MPavilion seasons and their projects: 2022, 2021 and 2020.

What do
M_curators do?

M_Curators have the space to explore, create, test and try their ideas through a mentorship program led by MPavilion’s creative director Jen Zielinska and program producer Molly Braddon, and special guests from Melbourne’s art and design community. They gain knowledge and insights into public programming and curation, with the intensive style program culminating in the opportunity to develop events for the MPavilion 10 season.

Past M_Curators have run printmaking workshops, explored new ways of using building materials with panel discussions, held dance classes and roundtable conversations about decolonising the city, just to name a few!

What will
you gain?

Through the M_Curators program, you will not only get hands-on experience in event programming and professional communication but exposure and connections as you kick-start your career. You will develop relationships with an entire cohort of M_Curators, creating a supportive community of like-minded young people—for your time with MPavilion and beyond!

Who can
Apply?

This program is open to people aged between 17-25 and under based in metro Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We strongly encourage applications from people that are First Nations, CALD, BIPOC, living with a disability, LGBTQIA+, and from other minority communities.
