Raphael is a self described ‘roustabout’ applying himself informally to salvaging, building, maintenance, gardening and cooking. Raphael has a Masters in Disaster, Design and Development and his PhD research explores the role building, as a process, has in forming positive community and environmental relationships.

Raphael has worked with local not-for-profit organisations such as Schoolhouse Studios and co-founded The Social Studio in 2009. He is currently on the board of Montsalvat, an artistic community established in the 1930’s, where he lived and worked during his formative years.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the people of the Eastern Kulin Nations as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
