Paul Haar

Across 43 years, Paul Haar has been immersed in deep green architectural practice operating inside small local economic and social systems.

He dedicated his early career to revitalising self-help housing cultures amongst indigenous Australian communities.

For the Mullum Creek eco-housing project, Paul steered design and construction practice to deeply mitigate environmental impacts tied to the lifetime operation of homes and the materials used to construct them.

And lifelong collaboration with CERES inspired Paul to initiate CERES Fair Wood, a not-for-profit that aggregates, retails and promotes the use of local farm grown wood.

In 2020, Paul won the Australian Sustainability Award for Lifetime Achievement.
