Jenny Kennedy

Dr Jenny Kennedy is a Research Fellow at RMIT. She is an associate investigator in the Centre of Excellence on Automated Decision Making + Society and a core member of the Digital Ethnography research centre.

Her most recent books include ‘The Smart Wife: Why Siri, Alexa, and Other Smart Home Devices Need a Feminist Reboot’ And ‘Digital Domesticity: Media, Materiality and Home Life’. Current projects focus on the gendering of AI and smart home technologies, and the digital inclusion of low-income households.

Her work has been featured in The New York Times, and published in journals such as: Information, Communication and Society; Communication, Politics and Culture; Convergence; and Continuum.
